Greatest High School Achievement

My greatest high school achievement would be coming to SPA. Coming from Rancho Bernardo High School I am not use to a lot of things at this school. Most of the academics are still really good and the teachers are good but the way teachers teach here are a lot different. For example I have never been in a paperless class in my entire life, I have never even taken a computer class. I also am not in AVID here anymore which helped me stay focused and do my homework every night. Now here I feel like I don't have my mom making sure my stuff is done so it is a lot more independent than back at home and takes more self discipline.

End of Year Reflection– Greatest High School Obstacle

My greatest high school obstacle would mbe moving to San Pasqual Academy. Before here I went to Rancho Bernardo High School. Being my first placement I was not aware of everything that had to be done for me to be in school again. And before I got here I had missed about two months of school, so once I did start back up I was behind in spanish and behind in math. I have caught up and I am doing my best to get good grades. Also having a paperless class was weird for me since I'm use to writing essays all the time. But San Pasqual has been a cool place I guess.

Prom 2011 :)

Prom 2011 was probably the best prom ever. I went to Rancho Bernardo High Schools prom at the house of blues with my boyfriend Logan. Before we all took pictures at his house and ate dinner with a bunch of friends. Then we drove down town and had to park about 5 blocks away but I made sure to switch into sandals before I went because I would hate to walk all that much in heels. At the prom it was really pretty and everyone was dancing. There was also a chocolate fountain and lot of awesome food to put in it. Then after promm we all went to my friend Leannes house because her mother set up games and activities for us to do. I didn't go to bed until 4 am and woke up at 6 am. Overall it was an amazing prom.

Free Choice Comment Blog Post

Today when I went on a hike I found a dead falttened frog. I also think it was cooked because of how hot the ground was & it just kind of looked cooked. I wanted to take it home with me & some how frame/put it in my room but the coaches wouldn't let me. As you may think, most girls would be grossed out by a dead flattened cooked frog, but not me. I think it would be cool to have a bunch of stuff like that in my room as long asa it didn't start to smell bad. I also really enjoy biology so that may be another reason why I wanted the from so much. I named it Bug because I felt if I named it it would have a greater purpose in the animal world. The picture I attatched is the ACTUAL frog I found.

Posters in the Hall

I don't really think that it matters who says the quote but what the quote says. I feel caring about why it was a white male who wrote it is just as racial as caring if it was an african american. I also saw quotes other than white males. If the quote is inspirational and applies to all races then why would it be any different if a group of black males wrote it? So, no I don't find it odd.

CST Testing Reflection

I had the worst testing experience of my life. The only one was okay with was the writing one but I fell asleep because I was sick so I ended up on guessing on a lot of them. The math part was okay. The first half was really easy because I'm pretty good at math but the second half I knew absolutely NOTHING. I missed school for almost 3 months so all of the math on the second half I had no clue how to even start. The history was the same because it was mostly about World War I and I was not in school when that was being taught. I'm glad I'm a sophomore because this test was mostly placement so next year I will make sure to not miss school and keep myself up with work so the tests are easier.

Free Choice Blog Post

I do not know what to write about in a free blog post. I am not a very creative person nor do I have a good imagination. This is a late assignment, but today we had a sub. Personally I really liked the sub but a lot of the class was very mean and disrespectful to her. I don't know why though, she seems like a very nicde woman with beautiful hair. I think Heather was the worst, she said some pretty harsh thigns. I feel bad because I laughed at some of the things that she said. But today I made up a lot of missing work so I had a productive day.

Testing Tips, Strategies, and Plays Reflection

My feelings on the upcoming CSTs are very mixed. I do not like taking them because I feel they are very long and boring but at the same time I feel very prepared. I know good test taking strategies especially with all that we have been learning in our classes. The packets and what the teachers have been saying to me have helped me with getting ready to take the test. I know to manage my time wisely, not be too stressed, really pay attention to the questions and all of the answers, and to check my work over again. Doing the play has helped me in a few ways. When writing a play you have to follow a certain format so now I know to go back and make sure I am following the directions correctly. Also, it has helped me with being patient. I am no longer nervous to take the CSTs because with all that I have been doing I feel fully prepared.

Playwrights Project Inspired by Music Paragraph

Today in class I listened to a song to help me write a scene idea. When I was listening to it it felt like a dark song. If it was a song with lyrics then I probably would have thought of better things. After the song I wanted to listen to it again because I was kind of forgetting what I was thinking.

UnGoogleable Research Paper Website Selection Reflection

Today in class I researched on regretting tattoos. To search for websites I used Google. When I found a website that went with my focus question I clicked on it and checked it out. Some websites were bad, how I knew that was it would have opinions, be from yahoo answers, or be poorly written. When I found a website that looked good I used it. Websites that looked good were mostly .gov or .org, they were neatly organized, and easy to read. Tomorrow I think Ms. Priester will be happy with my websites and not have me redo them.

Third Quarter Awards Review

I felt the third quater awards was boring for me. It was cool to see who got awards but i don't know the people and i wasn't here last quarter, so it was like wathcing the VMAs without seeing any of the videos. I think it is cool that they give money to the students who get good grades because it is showing acknowledgment to their hard work. I hope to get some type of an award during the 4th quarter awards.

UnGoogable Website Evaluation

"Switch” Play Audience Member Experience

Being an audience member of the Playwrights project was hard. This is my first placement and I am just now getting use to the system. I felt that it was a very educational play that many people should watch to get more information about foster kids in California. It showed me how hard case workers actually work and how I should be more appreciative of them. Seeing some of the stuff was hard though, watching the young boy being taken away from his mother, when the mom was saying how she wonders how her daughter is doing, the teenager who lives on the street because he is not aloud in a home anymore, and many others. I got emotional and even angry but when I look back on it im grateful to have gotten to see that play. If more people watched that then maybe foster kids in California would be looked at differently and understood better.

Forth Quarter Goals

I have not been in school the past two months but last semester I did not get the best of grades. I use to be a good student and get straight A's, so this quarter I want to pick up on that. I am going to make sure to get all my work done on time and ask questions in class. I will also take advantage of opportunities that I have when it comes to the tutors and extra help around campus. This quarter I am determined to get a 4.0 and end the year prepared to go into English junior year.
